Challenge Four ~ Maxfield Parrish
A big thank you to all who participated in Challenge Three! It was great to see all the different landscape works chosen by everyone. (Normally, I have a chance to thank everyone individually and get your work posted right away, but I've been at a painting workshop and on vacation over the last few weeks so I really appreciate your patience with me!)
I received a little suggestion for Challenge Four to paint the works of Maxfield Parrish which I thought was a brilliant suggestion! So feel free to choose any painting by Maxfield Parrish to paint (or draw) in any medium. Also, if you are interested in learning about Parrish's painting methods, a great article on his glazing technique can be found here. Enjoy painting... the deadline for Challenge Four is July 15th!

What a great surprise! My favorite painter . . I've always wanted to paint a Parrish but never got around to it. Opening my books now!

ReplyDeleteOOH, OOH, OOH. Maxfield Parrish!!!! Michelle, how you could ever have come up with such a marvelous painter as Maxfield Parrish for this challenge is beyond my scope of imagination. Excellence choice...I stand in awe. Or stand in something. :-)
ReplyDeleteGoofed around and missed the last challenge, but MUST do this one. Maxfield is unbelievable! All that wonderful GLOW he has in his work. Thanks Michelle...this will be a huge challenge and I can't wait to see what everyone does.
